Introduction
Services that add value, create convenience and make daily life and work easier and more effective are those that will be widely adopted and the true killer applications. To that end, Ericsson is seeking and rewarding those mobile applications leading the future in a customer focused Mobile Internet.

Whether it's a WAP, SMS, Java, MMS or voice application ready for Mobile Internet on GPRS or even 3G, if you can show it working, we want to know about it.

Twelve finalists will be selected to present their application to a live audience in Zurich on December 3, 2002. The top prizes will be chosen by an expert jury of mobile industry executives and an audience voting for the best mobile applications of 2002.

Prizes: What Is In It For You?
The Top 12 candidates will have the opportunity to present their company in a 5-minute presentation at the December 3rd, Ericsson Mobile Application Awards 2002 ceremony and an audience of ca. 400 people including senior executives representing mobile operators, venture capitalists and other industry players. In addition, you can find all other Prizes here.

The Ericsson Mobile Application Awards 2001
Over 90 applications were gathered during the registration process in 2001. This process was only 3 weeks long. In an extensive screening process, the top ten applicants were chosen. 5 companies were from Switzerland, two from Germany and one each from Luxemburg, Sweden and the U.K. On December 4, 2001, the top ten candidates tried to convince the expert jury and over 400 people in the audience, each with a 5 minutes presentation. The Swedish company “It’s alive” was elected to be the winner of the first Ericsson Mobile Application Award with their gaming and community service “Supafly”. The Swiss company Silent Oil won the People’s Choice Award for their telemetry solution, the Luxemburg based company M-Plify won the First Tuesday Innovation Award for their mobile medicine reminder application.
